Let’s give thanks to the United States Marine. The freedom we have here in the US is unmatched. The US Marine has a lot to do with the liberty that we enjoy. The Marine is a member of the United States military, as an infantry or amphibious division under the authority of the Navy. The Marine may also be under the authority of an independent amphibious force.

When naval warfare first began, soldiers and sailors were not distinct. The duties of the navy was to operate the ship, while the soldiers would protect and fight against the enemy. As time went on, these soldiers became referred to as the marine. The modern marine units are usually deployed from warships by means of helicopters, hovercrafts, amphibious vehicles or landing crafts.

The definition of marine derives from the English adjective meaning OF THE SEA. The Latin meaning is maritime. Other definitions are naval infantry, coastal infantry or navy infantry. The United States Marine Corps is currently the largest force in the world. It was created in 1775 with the intention of guarding naval vessels. Although it is part of the Department of the Navy, it is separate from the United States Navy.

History America has developed a United States Marine Poster honoring the Marine. It displays 12 different eras, starting with the Continental Marine through the modern day Marine. The poster also has a 54 point time line that includes important dates and facts. Their are also five different emblems beginning from the year 1854. This 36 x 12 acid-free poster uses fade-free ink.

Each authentic uniform stands out like a 3D movie. I believe that all homes in the US should display one of these patriotic posters for all to enjoy. Many will reflect upon our freedom that came with the highest cost. I am proud to live in a country that still has the most freedom in the world. Let’s hope that our freedom continues to remain throughout future generations.
